The design drew inspiration from the historic 1920s building that housed the former Star Engraving Factory and the area’s rich history. The River Oaks neighborhood’s opulent oil rush mansions influenced aesthetic choices.
The 4,500-square-foot space features intricate parquet flooring reminiscent of nearby mansions, charred and wire-brushed Douglas fir walls selected for their visual appeal and acoustic properties, authentic copper accents, plush copper velvets, verdigris metal panels, and smoky marbles.
The open kitchen features live flames, embracing the "flame-kissed aesthetic" that the client strongly preferred. The combination of historical references and contemporary materials creates a cohesive design narrative celebrating the building’s heritage and the client’s design vision.
